A growing problem in American today is drowsy drowsing. It’s not just truckers driving across the country trying to make a deadline that are a problem but regular drivers who are sleep deprived. According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults need 7-9 hours of sleep each night and teens need 8 1/2 to 9 1/4 hours. An estimated 50-70 million adults in America have sleep or wakefulness disorder, which means that are drowsy drivers all over our roads today. A study that covered twelve states found that around 1/3 of all people admitted to falling asleep unintentionally and between 3-6% of all people polled admitted to falling asleep while driving.
